SKINCARE FAQs; PART 4

SKINCARE FAQs; PART 4

Do you have questions about what how to incorporate products into your routine? Or how to treat hormonal acne? We've got you covered! We are sharing our top skincare FAQs answered by our team of skin experts in a four-part series!

WHAT ARE YOUR TIPS FOR DARK CIRCLES?
Struggling with dark circles? There are daily things to incorporate at home to improve your dark circles, such as getting a good night's sleep and using cold compresses to help minimize puffiness. However, monthly facial treatments, as well as a few key products can help improve your dark circles dramatically.

We recommend using a medical-grade Vitamin C in the morning; this is a great collagen booster, and also helps brighten your skin.

Another great product for under eyes is eye cream. Biologique Recherche's Crème Contour Yeux et Lèvres Biofixine is a skincare product that genuinely tackles the signs of aging by filling in wrinkles and fine lines that have already appeared, providing long-lasting hydration.

Lastly, as always we recommend using SPF daily to protect the skin.
Sun damage can lead to unwanted sun spots and pigmentation.

As for treatments for dark circles, we typically would recommend under-eye filler depending on if the dark circles are caused by volume loss, or Microneedling with PRP if the dark circles are caused by pigmentation or genetics. You can make a consultation by calling 703-327-8200.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ANTI-AGING?
We provide many in-office treatments for anti-aging, however, we also have a variety of skincare products that will help support anti-aging at home.
Vitamin A, for example, Retin-A, is a very important, preventative ingredient that we believe everybody can benefit from. Retin-A helps with skin cell turnover and helps increase the production of collagen.

Vitamin C is another extremely important ingredient to incorporate into your routine. Vitamin C is a strong antioxidant that protects your skin and prevents things like free radical damage - damage from the environment/UV rays.

It is beneficial to exfoliate a few times a week using Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) and Beta-Hydroxy Acids (BHAs) to remove dead skin. This will make your skin appear radiant and smooth.

The most important step is SPF. Sun exposure is the number one aging factor. It's important to apply 50+ SPF every morning, as well as re-application throughout the day.

PREGNANCY-SAFE SKINCARE  & TREATMENTS?
When pregnant, it's best to avoid active ingredients like Vitamin A and other exfoliating acids like Salicylic Acid.

iS Clinical skin care is considered safe to use when pregnant/nursing - because all retail products are non-systemic, meaning they cannot travel into the bloodstream. We always recommend consulting with your physician.

iS Clinical facial treatments are pregnancy-safe. The Foaming Enzyme treatment is one of Alex's favorite treatments that will leave you with a polished, more radiant complexion.

Another pregnancy-safe treatment is the Microneedling Regenerant Facial. This facial uses tiny, fine needles to create micro-injuries to the skin surface, triggering the body's natural healing process and boosting collagen and elastin production. Then, Biologique Recherche's Cocktail d'Actifs Regenerants serum is applied. This is a concentrate of 56 regenerating, revitalizing, stimulating, and energizing active ingredients derived from the most advanced biotechnology to bring the best results to the skin.
